We welcome patients who already have a psychiatrist. Our TMS-certified team will collaborate with your existing psychiatrist to integrate neurostimulation treatments into your care plan. Eligibility for Telehealth Psychiatrist Consultations

Telehealth consultations are available to patients who:

  • Have a valid referral from their GP or psychiatrist, outlining relevant mental health history and the specific advice or support being sought.
  • Have submitted their referral form to Brain Aid Clinics for review and scheduling.

Once your referral is received, our team will contact you to arrange an appointment at a mutually convenient time.

Preparing for Your Appointment

Ahead of your scheduled consultation, you will be asked to complete and return a telehealth consent form. This ensures that all necessary preparations are in place for the session. To provide a seamless telehealth experience, we may organise a brief test connection with you to verify that your technology is ready for the appointment.

What to Expect During Your Session with the Psychiatrist

Your consultation will involve a detailed assessment by an experienced psychiatrist, who will review your mental health needs comprehensively. This may include:

  • Exploring your medical and family history.
  • Discussing any past or current treatments.
  • Reviewing previous mood episodes or other related concerns.
  • Considering social and environmental factors that may impact your mental health.
  • Gathering other relevant information to inform the assessment.

The consultation typically takes approximately one hour. Based on the assessment, the psychiatrist will provide:

  • A clinical diagnosis (if appropriate).
  • Recommendations for managing your mental health, including potential therapy or medication options.
  • Advice to support you in achieving or maintaining a balanced lifestyle.
After Your Consultation

Following the session, a detailed report will be prepared for your referring doctor. This report will outline the psychiatrist’s clinical opinion and recommendations for ongoing management. Your GP or referring psychiatrist will continue to oversee your care and assist in implementing the treatment plan. For any follow-ups or further assistance, you will work directly with your referring doctor.
