DNA Health Test

Wondering what a DNA health test is? A DNA health and nutrition test is an assessment of your genetics to identify factors that may affect your health, so you can take the right approach to better health and well-being.

So, you’ve come back from the party season and with a vengeance, you’re eating healthy and you’re exercising… In fact, if you jiggle your hips, you can hear the $100+ of vitamins and supplements rattling away…

Hands up if this rings any bells?

Many of us start the new year with good intentions – eating well, exercising more, and perhaps rattling with numerous vitamins and supplements. But before investing in various products, it’s worth understanding what your body specifically needs. A DNA health and nutrition test helps you with just that.

The Body-Brain Connection

Your gut health significantly influences brain function, including how your body manages stress through various neurochemicals. Research has shown that inflammation can affect brain structure and function (Sankowski et al., 2015). Recent studies have found links between inflammation and several neurological conditions, including Parkinson’s disease, motor neurone disease, and Alzheimer’s disease. As Dr Alan Yu from The Florey Institute notes, “Given the close relationship between inflammation and the immune system, it’s clear that if we can regulate the immune system, we may also be able to develop new treatments for managing inflammatory diseases” (The Florey, 2024).

Why consider a DNA health testing at the start of your brain health journey?

Nutritional DNA testing can show how your body processes different nutrients and what might cause inflammation. For example, patients took the test and discovered they possessed the wild type that predisposed for lactose intolerance and the genotype associated with a medium risk for developing coeliac disease. Eliminating lactose (dairy) and gluten can reduce the risks of inflammatory responses.

The DNA health test also explains your personal methylation. “DNA methylation changes are known to occur during ageing, which is the major risk factor for neurodegeneration…”. (Fodder et al., 2023) Neurodegenerative disease is associated with accelerated epigenetic ageing.

Evidence-Based Approach

A DNA Brain Nutrition Assessment provides scientific insights about your specific needs, helping inform decisions about diet and supplementation. The assessment includes a consultation with a qualified practitioner to discuss your results and their implications.

Practical Applications

Understanding your genetic traits – such as caffeine sensitivity, Omega-3 requirements, or Vitamin D processing – can help guide more informed health choices. These insights can then inform other health decisions, including participation in programs like Thought Movement and Food™.

As we say at Brain Aid Clinics: “Good brain health starts with understanding your unique needs.

🧬 The DNA health test gives you insights tailored to your DNA, helping you take steps toward mental clarity and focus.”
